Community Players

Community Players is a weekly half-hour public affairs program hosted by KUNV News and Public Affairs Director Zachary Green. This show explores the Las Vegas community and all of its players that make the valley a great place to live. This show explores the world of the nonprofit, government, and private sectors here in Las Vegas. Listeners can expect to learn something new every time they tune into Community Players. The show airs on KUNV 91.5 FM Jazz and More on Sundays at 6:30 AM.

 Did you know that Nevada is 1 of 7 states that does not have a school for the blind or visually impaired? A scary thought when you realize there are thousands of visually impaired adults and children across Southern Nevada.

 
However, Emily Smith from The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation is fighting to help those with visual impairments all across the state. In today’s interview, Emily shares the importance of helping those with visual impairment in our community. She also shares how this nonprofit provides multiple programs that make life easier for visually impaired kids and teens here in Southern Nevada.

Did you know that shoes can say a lot about a person? Shoes can represent someone’s style, interests, occupation, and even passions. However, shoes can also tell us a lot about a persons social class, whether it be for better or worse. Thankfully, Nikki Berti from The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation is on a mission to give kids in need new shoes and socks. Her team distributes name brand shoes and other supplies to support disadvantaged children and kids in crisis throughout Southern Nevada.
