July 15, 2014: Introducing the new Dean of UNLV’s Greenspun College of Urban Affairs

This week, host Gary Larson and regular contributors David Damore and Elizabeth Thompson discuss Governor Brian Sandoval’s scathing letter to Congress citing their failure to adequately fund the Nation’s transportation trust fund and the impact that this lack of funding may have on the construction of Interstate 11 from Las Vegas to Phoenix. The panel also debates the recent report listing Nevada as 50th out of 50 states in job recovery after the great recession. They conclude by discussing the most recent woes of Las Vegas Constable John Bonaventura.

UNLV’s Greenspun College of Urban Affairs has a mission of improving the quality of urban life through the preparation of its student for careers in fields like criminal justice, social work and journalism. UNLV recently appointed a new Dean to oversee this college and lead the university’s outreach into the community. In this segment host Gary Larson sits down with Robert Ulmer, the head of the Greenspun College, to discuss his new position and what goals he has to help UNLV meet the needs of our urban community.
