UNLV Master Plan
The UNLVNow stadium project is not the only big idea for buildings on campus. The UNLV Master Plan also includes a new look along Maryland Parkway and a new transportation center that's already under construction on University Road. That's a "green" house!
More than 40 students from UNLV are constructing a house on campus designed to run on only solar power. The students are part of the Desert Sol team entering a US Department of Energy competition called Solar Decathlon which will be judged in Orange County, California in October. Eric Webber of UNLV's School of Architecture and Principal Investigator of the project speaks with host Gary Larson.

Water: The Lifebood of the Desert
The Las Vegas Valley draws most of its water from Lake Mead, which is fed by the Colorado River. During the winter, water watchers in Southern Nevada keep a close eye on the snow in Colorado. The key snow watcher in Las Vegas is John Entsmiger, Senior Deputy General Manager at the Southern Nevada Water Authority. He'll talk water with host Gary Larson, as well as recent political decisions in Utah that may impact the water that we receive here in Southern Nevada.

When Pilots at Creech Air Force Base, an hour north of Las Vegas, head to work in the morning, they find themselves operating in the skies over Afghanistan. The mission of remote piloted aircraft, or drones as they are known, has become controversial in some quarters. The pilots at Creech try to stay below the radar on the controversy and do their jobs. Colonel Jim Hecker, Commander of the 432 Air Wing at Creech, discusses RPAs with host Gary Larson.
